The hotel rooms were exceptionally clean, the beds were comfortable, and I enjoyed the great pillows. However, the rooms were a bit too hot for my liking. The hotel had lovely garden views and provided a cooler environment with air conditioning and a fridge for our drinks.

The location was excellent, but the hotel seemed small compared to others we've stayed in. The old staircases and burning log fire added to the lovely atmosphere, but there were some security concerns with people not following lane rules and a creepy person in the gym area.

While the room was small and shabby, needing a fresh coat of paint and some maintenance, the service provided by the friendly staff, especially a male server, was exceptional. Unfortunately, the location was not ideal due to a train strike affecting our plans. Dining was a mix of highs and lows with excellent quality but also some disappointing aspects. Overall, it was a stay with mixed experiences.
